Napoli Star Makes Real Madrid Wish Clear Ahead of Champions League Draw
Costantino Favasuli has revealed the one Champions League matchup he would love to see — a trip to the Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid.
Costantino Favasuli has made no secret of his dream Champions League opponent.
With the 2026/27 league-phase draw approaching, the Napoli midfielder was asked which stadium he would most like to visit during the competition. His answer came quickly: the Santiago Bernabéu, against Real Madrid.
“At the Bernabéu, against Real Madrid. It would be wonderful,” Favasuli said in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
The Italian has recently joined Napoli and is preparing for his first taste of Champions League football with the club. A meeting with Madrid would clearly be one of the biggest occasions of his young career.
A dream Bernabéu night
Favasuli didn’t simply name Real Madrid as a preferred opponent — he specifically picked the Bernabéu as the stadium he wants to experience.
For players making their mark in European football, a night at the home of Real Madrid remains one of the sport’s biggest attractions. Favasuli now has a chance to see that dream become reality.
However, he also made it clear that Napoli will be ready regardless of who they draw.
“We will get whoever we get, and we’ll be prepared,” he said.
Real Madrid and Napoli are both among the 36 teams competing in the new Champions League league phase, meaning a meeting between the two sides is possible.
The draw takes place in Monaco on Thursday, August 27, with Madrid set to discover their eight opponents for the league phase.
For Favasuli, though, there is already one opponent at the top of his wishlist:
Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
