Madrid-Bound Endrick Reveals Former Galactico as His Inspiration, and It’s Not Cristiano Ronaldo
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, 17-year-old rising star Endrick Felipe shared his thoughts on his imminent move to Real Madrid and revealed his football role model.
“I work tirelessly every day to arrive in Madrid fully prepared to contribute to the team. Dealing with pressure is something I’ve grown accustomed to. It may not always be easy, but it’s part of the game,” said Endrick.
What sets Endrick apart is his admiration for a particular player who inspired him. Unlike many of his fellow Brazilians who look up to Cristiano Ronaldo, Endrick has a different idol.
“I’m a number 9 with the spirit of a number 10. I’ve been a fan of [Karim] Benzema since his Lyon days. When Cristiano left, Benzema stepped up and took on greater responsibilities. His style of play is incredibly inspiring,” he explained.
Endrick Felipe is set to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 when he turns 18. His journey to the Bernabeu is eagerly anticipated by both the player and Real Madrid fans.
