Lionel Messi’s Suggestion: Could Luka Modric Join Inter Miami from Real Madrid?
Lionel Messi, a figure not particularly beloved by Real Madrid fans due to his history with FC Barcelona, undeniably ranks among the greatest footballers of all time. While he’s now playing for Inter Miami in the United States after leaving Europe at the end of last season, his presence has significantly boosted the profile of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Messi isn’t the only high-profile addition to Inter Miami, as players like Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have also joined the club. Interestingly, there are rumors that another legendary figure, this time from Real Madrid, might be on their radar.
According to reports from the Mirror, Messi believes that Inter Miami should consider adding Luka Modric to their roster. This notion was echoed by former Real Madrid forward Pedja Mijatovic in an interview with Cadena SER. Mijatovic mentioned that “Messi himself has personally been interested in the possibility,” and recent interactions between Modric and David Beckham, Inter Miami’s owner, further fueled speculation.
Beckham and Modric were photographed together in late August, although the exact reason for their meeting remains unclear. Nevertheless, the prospect of Modric making a move to Inter Miami cannot be ruled out, especially as it appears that his time at Real Madrid may be drawing to a close.
For the first time in over a decade, Modric is no longer a regular starter for Real Madrid. He has started in only three games this season and was even left on the bench for their last two matches. The signs suggest that a new chapter in Modric’s illustrious career may be on the horizon.
