Is a January Striker Signing Necessary for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid’s decision not to sign a new striker during the summer transfer window has so far been vindicated. Despite the departure of Karim Benzema, the team has been in excellent form, winning 12 out of 14 matches, including El Clasico. Jude Bellingham has been instrumental in their attack, scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances.

Joselu Mato, the only new striker arrival, has also made a positive impact. However, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo have not been as prolific in front of goal. While Real Madrid has been effective overall, Bellingham’s exceptional form may not be sustainable.

If other sources of goals do not emerge in the coming months, Real Madrid could consider signing a striker in January. Recent reports suggest they might target Porto’s Mehdi Taremi. The next few weeks will likely determine whether such a move is necessary. If Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Joselu can contribute more goals, there may be no need to invest in another forward.

It’s worth noting that Endrick Felipe is set to join Real Madrid from Palmeiras next summer, and Kylian Mbappe is expected to join the club as a free agent when his PSG contract expires. Given these potential additions, a January signing may not be a priority for Real Madrid. They already have plenty of firepower, and any move is likely to be a careful and considered one.
