Arteta Asks Arsenal to Sign Clear Real Madrid Target: €100M Price Tag

Arsenal has set its sights on signing Viktor Gyökeres, with Mikel Arteta identifying the Swedish striker as his top priority to strengthen the team’s attack. Gyökeres, who has shined at Sporting CP, was also on Real Madrid’s radar.
At the Spanish club, he was being monitored as a possible option in case Vinícius or Rodrygo left. But now, it’s the Gunners who have taken the lead.

A Spectacular Season
Gyökeres has had an outstanding season, scoring 47 goals in 46 games for Sporting and providing 11 assists. With the Swedish national team, he’s also impressed: 10 goals and 4 assists in just 7 matches.
His clinical finishing makes him one of the most effective strikers in Europe right now.
Arsenal’s Plan
According to Football Insider, Arsenal has not yet made an official offer but has already opened talks to understand the terms of the transfer.
Andrea Berta, the club’s new sporting director, believes Gyökeres is the perfect addition to complete Arteta’s project. He’s now ahead of other targets such as Benjamin Šeško (RB Leipzig) and Victor Osimhen (currently on loan at Galatasaray).

Gyökeres has a contract with Sporting CP until 2028, with a release clause of €100 million. However, the Portuguese club might accept an offer of €70–75 million if the player pushes for the move.
Arsenal aims to close the deal early in the summer transfer window, avoiding a bidding war.
Real Madrid Watching from the Sidelines
At Valdebebas (Madrid’s training ground), there’s no final decision on Gyökeres. With Kylian Mbappé already in the squad, only an unexpected departure would revive interest.
Meanwhile, Arteta is pushing to ensure Arsenal wins the race. If successful, it could mean Real Madrid misses out on one of the most sought-after strikers on the market.
