Some believe the two were engaged in a disagreement over a play in which they did not see eye to eye. This speculation is further fueled by recent comments from journalist Antón Meana of ‘Cadena SER’ regarding their relationship.

“The criticism towards Mbappé when he misses a chance is louder than when Vinícius does,” Meana noted. Regarding their relationship, he suggested it might be one of the reasons behind Mbappé’s recent dip in form. “Their relationship is not as good as it seems,” he stated, clarifying that there is no hostility but adding, “It is not at its best moment.”

Despite this, the two players generally have a good rapport, as seen on multiple occasions. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t have disagreements on the pitch over certain actions—both are highly competitive and want the best for the team.
