The former Madrid player Drenthe accuses Messi: “He called me a f***ing bl*ck.”

Royston Drenthe has made a strong accusation against Lionel Messi, claiming that the Argentine star insulted him with a racist comment during a La Liga match.
In an interview on the The Wild Project podcast, the former Real Madrid and Hércules player shared his experience with Messi:
“During a match when I was playing for Hércules against Barcelona, Messi called me a ‘black piece of s**.’ Later, he told me that Argentine players use that term among themselves and that for them, it’s normal. For example, they would say it to Garay, and he didn’t mind. But they need to understand that for someone like me, it wasn’t acceptable. It’s not the same when my friends say it in training as when an opponent says it during a match. We never spoke about it again afterward,”* Drenthe revealed.
This statement sheds light on Messi’s behavior on the pitch, which is often portrayed positively by the media. Unlike other players like Cristiano Ronaldo or Vinícius Jr., who are frequently criticized for their actions, Messi has largely maintained a clean public image.
He Rejected Barcelona
Drenthe also spoke about the summer he signed for Real Madrid after impressing the football world.
“I spoke with Laporta, with Mijatović because of his position at the club, and also with Chelsea. They wanted to sign me and then loan me back to Feyenoord for a year, but I didn’t want that,” the Dutchman explained.
