Sarkozy Surprises with Mbappé’s Future Club Announcement
Former French President unexpectedly reveals where Mbappé will play next year.
Nicolás Sarkozy, a devoted PSG fan and former French president, has confirmed that Mbappé has made up his mind about his future, and it does not, for now, involve a move to Real Madrid.
“I admire Florentino Pérez, but Mbappé is staying in Paris,” stated Sarkozy during an interview on the ‘Espejo Público’ program.
The former French head of state denied exerting any ‘influence’ to secure Mbappé’s contract renewal just over a year ago, thereby rejecting a move to the Santiago Bernabéu: “I had no involvement in that matter.”
Sarkozy emphasized that while he is not speaking on Mbappé’s behalf, he knows and admires him as an athlete.
“I am not Mbappé’s spokesperson, but he is a player I love and admire a lot,” he noted.

“I really like Real Madrid; I watch their games frequently. I know and admire Florentino… but Mbappé is staying in Paris,” he commented.
Lastly, Sarkozy expressed that he feels like one of the fans at the PSG stadium.
“I have been going to the PSG stadium since I was 15; I did it even when I was the President of the country. I loved experiencing the excitement as one of the fans,” he concluded.
