Toni Kroos Commends Antonio Rudiger’s Composure in Face of Sergio Ramos’ Antics
Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos has lauded Antonio Rudiger for keeping his cool in a confrontational moment involving Sergio Ramos, an incident that unfolded during their recent 1-1 draw with Sevilla. Ramos, a former Real Madrid stalwart, drew attention to himself and even playfully brought a smile to Rudiger’s face, sparking a heated exchange between the two.
During his podcast ‘Einfach mal luppen,’ as reported by Diario AS, Kroos shared his perspective on the incident, suggesting that things could have taken a more “entertaining” turn had it not been for Rudiger’s level-headed response.
“Sergio painted a smile on his face. Things got heated. As for Antonio, I have to say: chapeau. He was one away from suspension, and the following weekend was the Clasico, which meant at that moment that he couldn’t afford to mess up. That was probably what held him back a bit. Otherwise, it would have been even more fun.”
Rudiger’s suspension would have left Real Madrid with just two central defenders, Nacho Fernandez and David Alaba. The German defender has been a consistent presence for Los Blancos this season, particularly in the absence of Eder Militao due to injury, displaying the same resilience he exhibited toward the end of the previous season. While Ramos may have scored an own goal against Barcelona a few weeks ago, his antics this time did not end up doing any favors for Real Madrid.
