Valverde Reveals Playing Through Injury Barrier for Real Madrid
Real Madrid is grappling with a string of injury woes, with Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois expected to miss a significant portion, if not the entirety, of the season. Vinicius Jr. is also sidelined for several more weeks, while summer signing Arda Guler has yet to make his debut following an injury sustained in preseason.
Adding to the injury concerns, Federico Valverde, a key player for Real Madrid, is reported to be playing through the pain barrier. Valverde has been seen wearing a bandage around his right hand, the result of a fracture he suffered in training.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo (via Madrid Universal), Valverde confirmed the injury, stating, “I suffered a fracture in training, in a duel. I went to grab another teammate, and my hand got caught. It hurts, but I can play, and that’s the important thing.”
Valverde has been a consistent starter for Real Madrid this season, featuring prominently in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 formation with a midfield diamond. Ancelotti’s trust in Valverde has been evident, even deploying him on the right flank, a position not typically associated with the Uruguayan’s natural role.
Despite the discomfort caused by the fracture, Valverde’s determination and commitment to contribute to Real Madrid’s success have not wavered. He recently scored a crucial equalizer for the club in a challenging match against Real Sociedad, turning the tide in their favor as they ultimately triumphed 2-1 under Ancelotti’s leadership.
While Valverde’s resilience is admirable, it remains essential for his well-being and performance that he recovers from the injury as quickly as possible, ensuring he can continue to make a positive impact for Real Madrid.
