Santiago Gimenez Emerges as Europe’s Top Scorer – Real Madrid and Tottenham Eying Transfer
Santiago Gimenez has made waves in European football, drawing level as the leading scorer in top-level European leagues this season with his remarkable 15 goals in just 11 appearances for Feyenoord. His exceptional form has ignited transfer talks, with expectations that retaining his services beyond 2024 will be a significant challenge for the Dutch champions.
Morris Pagniello, a FIFA intermediary representing the Mexican international, disclosed discussions with Atletico Madrid about a potential move for Gimenez. However, Pagniello revealed that it is Real Madrid, along with Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently the frontrunners to secure Gimenez’s signature.
Pagniello stated, “Now, the teams closest to him are Real Madrid and Tottenham.”
Reports suggest that Feyenoord may consider offers in the range of €40-50 million for Gimenez, with his current valuation situated toward the lower end of that scale. While Real Madrid is well-placed financially, the club’s potential signings, including Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe, may impact their pursuit of Gimenez.
