Henry’s Insights on Madrid’s Future with Mbappé: “They’re Going to Dominate…”

The name Kylian Mbappé continues to stir discussions despite the Champions League aftermath. The French footballer, barring a major surprise, is set to join Real Madrid, marking the most significant signing of the decade.

One of those who knows Mbappé best is Thierry Henry. The former player, who now works as a commentator on English television, spoke about the potential arrival of the Bondy prodigy in Madrid. Henry praised everything the White House represents: “One thing you have to give a lot of credit to Real Madrid for is their ability to build the team, keeping some of the old guard to ensure they can explain to the newcomers, the young ones, what Real Madrid is,” he began.

He then discussed the prospect of Mbappé’s arrival in the Spanish capital: “And if you look at it now, what they’ll have if Mbappé arrives, they’ll have a team that can dominate Europe or their league for the next 6 or 7 years because they’ll have young talents like Vinicius Junior, if Mbappé arrives, Rodrygo, Valverde, Tchouaméni… I won’t name the entire squad,” he affirmed.

It’s evident that the former FC Barcelona player is absolutely right. In fact, it’s what seems to be on the horizon. Florentino Pérez is building a team to dominate football in the coming years.

Praise for Real Madrid Henry praised the president’s management, particularly how he handles arrivals and departures: “But one thing they do phenomenally well is they know when to let go of players. I’m not talking about players it makes sense to let go of. I’m talking about Cristiano, it was time. It was Casemiro’s time, it was Özil’s time, it was Varane’s time, more due to his knee problems, if they explained it to me well,” he said.

To conclude, he highlighted how the club handled the legendary midfield: “But if you think about these three: Casemiro, Modric, and Kroos, they sold the youngest one. And you think, why did they sell the youngest one? Because they realized that those two could help Tchouaméni, Valverde, and Camavinga to grow. This is done phenomenally well, and credit must be given for it because it’s different from the rest. Because when you get rid of the players I mentioned, they were incredible players at that time for the team.”
