Rodrygo Credits Luka Modric for Career Resurgence and New Real Madrid Contract

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo recently signed a new five-year contract with the club, a significant achievement in his career. However, this milestone may not have been possible without a turning point that occurred two seasons ago, which he attributes to his close relationship with Luka Modric.

“I will always be very grateful to Modric; we have a very good relationship. At a time when I was not playing as much, he told me to continue working and training because my time was going to come,” Rodrygo revealed.

Following Modric’s advice, Rodrygo redoubled his efforts in training and saw his hard work pay off. He eventually found his stride, began playing regularly, and contributed by scoring goals and being a crucial part of the team.

Last season was a standout one for Rodrygo, as he scored 19 goals in all competitions, which marked his highest goal tally for Real Madrid. He also provided 11 assists. Notably, when Real Madrid clinched the Champions League title in 2022, Rodrygo contributed 9 goals and 10 assists during that campaign.

While the current season has presented some challenges, with Rodrygo scoring just two goals in 12 games, there is still plenty of time for the young talent to alter his trajectory and further shape his career.
