According to his former coach, Filipe Almeida, who served as an assistant manager at Fenerbahce when Guler made his debut, the young talent possesses qualities reminiscent of Real Madrid legends James Rodríguez and Luka Modric.

“With his exceptional technical ability, passing, vision, and decision-making, I see many similarities between Guler and James Rodríguez and Luka Modric,” Almeida stated.

Although Guler has been predominantly deployed as a right winger in the early sessions, Almeida believes that his best position lies in a more central attacking role. Almeida explained, “He is an attacking midfielder, a classic number 10 with the freedom to get on the ball. However, since his left foot is his strongest, he can also play on the right wing, allowing him to cut inside, deliver crosses, provide key passes, or take shots. This versatility was evident in his recent goal for the team.”

While displaying confidence on the training ground is one thing, performing at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu is an entirely different challenge. Nevertheless, Almeida believes that Guler is well-equipped to handle the pressure owing to his experience at Fenerbahce.

“Playing for colossal clubs like Real Madrid brings immense pressure for any player. However, I believe that the pressure from clubs like Fenerbahce, which operates in an intense environment, may have prepared Guler well for this situation. It has shaped his character and aided his overall development. If he maintains the confidence he has displayed from the beginning, I anticipate that the weight of the Real Madrid jersey will gradually ease off his shoulders,” Almeida explained.

Addressing speculation about a potential loan move, Guler made it clear during his introductory press conference that he intended to stay at Real Madrid. Reports suggest that he has received assurances regarding playing time this season. Should he get the opportunity, Guler will face competition from the likes of Brahim Diaz, Rodrygo Goes, and Fede Valverde for a wider role in the team.
