Real Madrid’s Injury Update: Patient Approach for Arda Guler’s Return
Real Madrid has faced a challenging injury crisis at the start of the La Liga season, with several key players sidelined. However, there is optimism as they begin to assess when these players might return.
Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois are currently dealing with long-term injuries, specifically anterior cruciate ligament issues. While Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy were expected to make a comeback in their recent 2-1 victory over Getafe, they are likely to return after the international break, provided all goes well.
In accordance with reports from MD, Arda Guler has also set his sights on a return date. Guler underwent meniscus surgery three weeks ago and is targeting a return in just under three weeks, coinciding with the Madrid derby, where Real Madrid faces Atletico Madrid on either the 23rd or 24th of September. Guler aims to be part of the squad for that crucial match.
However, Managing Madrid suggests that the club is adopting a cautious approach with Guler. They are keen on safeguarding the 18-year-old’s long-term prospects and are prepared to wait until after the second international break in October for his return. This would see him out of action until the trip to Sevilla on the 21st or 22nd of October, two weeks following the Madrid derby.
Real Madrid acknowledges Guler’s eagerness to return to action, especially after impressing in training at Valdebebas. Nevertheless, given his youth and immense talent, they are determined to avoid any risks that could have adverse effects on Guler’s future prospects.
