Real Madrid Urged to Pursue Rising Star as Forward Option
Real Madrid is undoubtedly a formidable force, but the need for additional squad options is becoming increasingly apparent. While they’ve performed admirably with their existing roster, history reminds us that the course of a long campaign can take a toll, as injuries and fatigue plagued their squad in previous seasons.
The current campaign will provide an interesting test, but it’s evident that for sustained success at the highest level, Real Madrid must bolster their ranks.
One particular area of concern is the forward position. With Karim Benzema’s departure at the end of the last season, there’s a gap to be filled, and while Joselu has performed well, he may not be a long-term solution. His ability against top-tier opposition remains to be seen.
One forward who’s been shining brightly this season is Julián Álvarez, a Manchester City player. Calls have gone out for Real Madrid to consider pursuing this rising star, who seems destined for greatness.
Jorge D’Alessandro, the legendary Argentine goalkeeper, made his recommendation known on TyC Sports, as reported by Bernabeu Digital:
“I recommended Julián Álvarez for both Real Madrid and Barcelona. I think he is eclipsing Haaland. He is totally eclipsing him.”
Álvarez’s performances this season have been outstanding, some even argue that he’s currently outperforming Erling Haaland. Manchester City secured the Argentine’s services from River Plate for a transfer fee estimated at around £14 million.
While Real Madrid has been linked with Álvarez previously, back then, he struggled for playing time at Manchester City. Now, he’s a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side, and there’s little incentive for him to leave the reigning Treble winners.
Nonetheless, the allure of Real Madrid is special, and if they come calling for Álvarez, it will be intriguing to see whether a potential move materializes or not.
