Chelsea prepares to compete with Real Madrid for €150 million transfer target

Real Madrid is anticipated to have a massive summer transfer window, having made no acquisitions in January. They have been linked with some of the most in-demand players in the game. Of course, that also means they are in competition with some of the biggest clubs in the world, and now it seems Chelsea is ready to go head to head with the Spanish giants for their top target.

Chelsea has a reputation for its record-breaking run in the transfer market since their change in ownership. While struggling on the pitch and sitting mid-table in the Premier League, the Blues have added several players, including Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, and several others. Now it seems that Jude Bellingham has been added to their wishlist as well.

According to The Telegraph (via ESPN), Chelsea is ready to compete with Real Madrid to sign Bellingham in the summer, and he is believed to be the Blues’ priority target. Other clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and PSG have also been linked with Bellingham.

The 19-year-old is amongst the most highly-rated youngsters in the game, and he might be among the best midfielders in the world right now. A transfer fee close to €150 million may be required to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

However, if Chelsea tries to sign Bellingham, they might not have Champions League football to offer, which could become a big issue. The club has struggled since they replaced Thomas Tuchel with Graham Potter, a manager whose best Premier League finish is ninth.
