Real Madrid Pursue Striker Reinforcement as Karim Benzema Departs
Real Madrid find themselves in dire need of a top-notch striker after the departure of Karim Benzema, who joined Al-Ittihad at the conclusion of last season. The unexpected exit came as a surprise, as it was initially anticipated that the Frenchman would stay for another year. With Benzema gone, Los Blancos have lost their primary goal-scoring threat over the past five seasons.
To compensate, Real Madrid secured the services of Joselu on a season-long loan deal this summer. However, the Spaniard doesn’t quite seem like the ideal candidate to lead the line for Los Blancos, and would be better suited as a backup option.
The club does boast Alvaro, a promising talent who has shown glimpses of his potential in limited appearances. Nonetheless, given his young age of 19, it is crucial to allow him the time to further develop his skills.
Hence, Real Madrid would greatly benefit from a striker capable of spearheading their attack in the upcoming season. One player who has been heavily linked with the club is Dusan Vlahovic. Encouragingly, there have been indications that Juventus is open to parting ways with him as well.
Real Madrid Receives Transfer Boost in Pursuit of Vlahovic According to a tweet by Fabrizio Romano, Juventus has submitted a €37.5 million plus €2.5 million bid to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. However, this offer is contingent on their ability to offload Vlahovic.
It appears that Juventus already has a plan in place should Vlahovic leave. Hence, it seems the Italian club is open to the idea of the Serbian striker’s departure, considering he has failed to meet expectations during his time in Turin.
Juventus reportedly spent an €81 million transfer package to acquire Vlahovic from Fiorentina. Nevertheless, statistics from Transfermarkt show that he has recorded 23 goals and 6 assists in 63 appearances for the club thus far.
