Real Madrid Player Seeks Free Transfer Departure Next Summer

Real Madrid’s current lack of depth may be a concern for supporters, but the club appears satisfied with their existing options and isn’t expected to make further signings during this summer transfer window. Despite potential disappointment among fans, Real Madrid has had a strong start to the season, winning both of their league games convincingly under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti.

As the season progresses, tougher challenges will come, and the team’s depth will likely be put to the test. This was evident in the previous season, where the team struggled to maintain consistent performances after the World Cup break.

While depth is a concern, there are players within the squad who are not expected to feature prominently. Alvaro Odriozola is one such player who has struggled to find his place under Ancelotti’s plans. An exit during this transfer window might have been logical for all parties involved, but it seems Odriozola has other intentions.

Reports from MARCA suggest that Odriozola plans to stay at Real Madrid, see out his contract, and leave on a free transfer when his deal expires on June 30, 2024. Despite interest from Real Sociedad, Odriozola seems set on remaining at the club.

Initially signed from Real Sociedad in 2018 with the expectation of competing with and eventually succeeding Dani Carvajal, Odriozola’s time at Real Madrid has been marked by limited playing time. He has also been loaned out to Bayern Munich and Fiorentina during his tenure. Now in his prime at 27 years old, he seems willing to bide his time on the bench for another year and then leave the club as a free agent.
