Real Madrid Open to Offers from Saudi Arabian Club for Ferland Mendy
Real Madrid is considering an offer from a Saudi Arabian club for the transfer of defender Ferland Mendy. Following the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s takeover of four domestic clubs, the Saudi Pro League is actively recruiting players this summer.
Former Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema has already made a move to Al Ittihad, and now Mendy might follow him to the Middle East. Over the past year, Mendy has lost his starting role in Carlo Ancelotti’s lineup, making the club open to the possibility of selling him.
Although Ancelotti is not actively seeking to offload the French international, reports from Diario AS suggest that Real Madrid is willing to entertain acceptable offers. The return of Fran Garcia to the team adds further pressure to Mendy’s position, as David Alaba is capable of covering the left-back role in the upcoming months.
While Mendy’s release clause in Madrid stands at €250m, the Spanish giants could potentially accept offers around 10% of that amount.
