Real Madrid Nearing Loan Deal for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga as Courtois Replacement
In the wake of Thibaut Courtois’ season-ending ACL injury, Real Madrid has been actively searching for a replacement first-choice goalkeeper. While several names have been linked, including David De Gea and Yassine Bounou, it now appears that Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga is close to joining on a season-long loan.
According to Marca, negotiations with Kepa are advancing, and a loan move to Real Madrid could be on the horizon. Kepa has lost his starting position at Chelsea due to the arrival of fellow Spaniard Robert Sanchez. The opportunity to secure regular playing time at Real Madrid might be appealing to him.
Although Kepa has also been linked to Bayern Munich, a one-year loan deal to Real Madrid would be a practical solution, especially considering Courtois will resume his role as the number one goalkeeper upon returning from injury. The deal is not yet finalized, but if completed, it could provide Real Madrid with a temporary solution for the goalkeeper position.
