Real Madrid Eyes Manchester City Youngster
Real Madrid embarked on a squad overhaul over the summer, but one critical area that still needs reinforcement is the striker position. With Karim Benzema’s departure at the end of the previous season, Real Madrid has yet to find a suitable replacement. While Joselu’s arrival is a strategic move, he may not be the frontline leader required for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to contend for all major trophies.
Initial hopes of Real Madrid signing a world-class forward to fill the void left by Benzema were high. Names like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, Dusan Vlahovic, Randal Kolo Muani, and others were linked to the club. However, the only striker they secured was Joselu, on loan from Espanyol.
Recent rumors have connected Real Madrid to Erling Haaland, but it seems they are also considering one of his Manchester City teammates.
As reported by Fichajes (via Caught Offside), Real Madrid is monitoring Julian Alvarez, a promising striker from Manchester City, who has found himself on Ancelotti’s shortlist.
Alvarez faced challenges securing regular starts for Manchester City last season, but this season has seen a significant change, as he appears to be an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s plans. At just 23 years old, the Argentine is regarded as one of the world’s most talented young players. He has already achieved significant success at both club and international levels and played a pivotal role in Argentina’s recent World Cup victory.
Acquiring a talent like Alvarez would be a shrewd move for Real Madrid. However, negotiating a deal for the Argentine may prove to be a formidable challenge, particularly considering his increased playing time with Manchester City.
