Premier League Club Leaves the Door Open for Eden Hazard’s Potential 2024 Return
Eden Hazard’s recent retirement from professional football marked the end of a frustrating chapter in his career. The Belgian winger was expected to set the world alight when he made the move from Premier League giants Chelsea to Real Madrid in 2019. However, injuries plagued his time in the Spanish capital, and he struggled to replicate his Chelsea form.
In the summer, Hazard parted ways with Real Madrid by mutually terminating his contract, a move that many fans saw as a relief for the club. While there had been links to potential moves to Saudi Arabia or a return to Belgium, Hazard ultimately decided to hang up his boots.
Surprisingly, West Ham coach Kevin Nolan has suggested that the Hammers could consider a 2024 move for Hazard. Nolan believes that Hazard’s enduring talent leaves the door ajar for a potential return, drawing a comparison to Paul Scholes coming out of retirement at Manchester United.
Nolan expressed his interest, saying, “I would have Hazard at West Ham. If he wanted to come and try, I’d be willing. I don’t know if David Moyes would be, but I would like to try it.”
Nolan lamented Hazard’s early retirement at the age of 32, stating that someone of his caliber could have played at the highest level for many more years. He suggested that a scenario like Paul Scholes’ return from retirement could happen with Hazard if an opportunity arose, and a club was willing to have him for a limited stint.
