Manchester United’s Struggle Spurs Interest in Real Madrid Target
This season, Manchester United seems to have faced setbacks despite a promising start under Erik ten Hag. The anticipation of continued progress and a potential title challenge following high-profile summer additions has given way to struggles, with most victories coming against lower-half Premier League teams. Amidst this, the club is now eyeing a player also linked with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid finds themselves in need of offensive reinforcements, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo showing glimpses of talent but struggling overall in their central roles. In light of this, the logical move for Real Madrid would be to sign a striker, and Mehdi Taremi of FC Porto has emerged as a potential target. However, Manchester United seems to be entering the race for Taremi’s signature, with reports suggesting a €10 million (£8.7 million) transfer fee in the January window.
The prolific striker, Taremi, has been a standout performer in recent years, scoring 31 goals and providing 14 assists in 51 appearances last season. Despite his impressive record, his contract with FC Porto expires next summer, prompting the club to consider a January transfer to avoid losing him for free later.
While Taremi may offer a short-term solution for Real Madrid, similar to the successful addition of Joselu, his potential acquisition could be a strategic move to bolster the team’s attacking options.
