Luka Modric Reflects on Turning 38 and His Future in Football
In a recent interview with Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, Luka Modric shared his thoughts on reaching the age of 38 and his enduring passion for football.
Modric expressed his delight at approaching his 38th birthday, saying, “I’ll be 38 on Saturday. That’s fantastic.”
Reflecting on his longevity in the sport, he added, “If someone had told me 10 years ago that I’d still enjoy football and everything it brings: training, meeting my teammates, the support of the fans, I honestly wouldn’t have believed them.”
Furthermore, Modric revealed his plans to remain involved in football even after retiring from professional play: “The only thing I know is I want to stay in football. Which role? I’ve not yet come up with an idea. I’ve enrolled in the Academy of Coaches, and I hope to finish it in Croatia.”
Despite his 38 years, Modric remains a vital presence for both Real Madrid and the Croatian national team, boasting an impressive career that includes five Champions League titles and nearly 500 appearances for Real Madrid. However, he has faced limited playing time this season, even with Carlo Ancelotti opting for a four-midfielder formation
