Luka Modric Expresses Joy Over Ballon d’Or Top 30 Placement and Croatian Nominees
Luka Modric, in a recent interview, shared his delight at making it into the top 30 Ballon d’Or nominees and expressed his happiness for Josko Gvardiol, acknowledging his outstanding performances. The 38-year-old also expressed his joy for Dominik Livakovic, who secured a nomination in the best goalkeeper category, emphasizing that these achievements are a boon for Croatian football.
Interestingly, Modric did not mention Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, or Karim Benzema, despite their inclusion in the 30-man shortlist. This omission may be due to the timing of the interview, which took place shortly after his national team commitments.
As the 2023 Ballon d’Or approaches, Lionel Messi is widely regarded as the frontrunner for the prestigious award. Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are also anticipated to be strong contenders. The eagerly awaited ceremony is scheduled for October.
