Kroos Calls Out Arda Güler After His Starting Debut
Toni Kroos had some straightforward advice for Arda Güler after the young Turkish midfielder made his first start for Real Madrid in their recent 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid. The match, which took place ahead of Real Madrid’s upcoming clash against Las Palmas at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, saw Güler stepping up due to Jude Bellingham’s injury.
Carlo Ancelotti, reflecting on Güler’s performance, emphasized the importance of giving young players like him and Endrick more playing time to adapt and improve continuously. “This match is part of their development plan. I believe, like Endrick, we need to give them minutes so they can adjust well to the team and progress consistently, day by day. Every day, every game is a good opportunity to reach Real Madrid’s level,” Ancelotti stated.
However, it was Toni Kroos who took a more direct approach in his feedback to Arda Güler. Despite no longer being a regular starter, Kroos remains influential in the Real Madrid locker room and didn’t hesitate to reach out to Güler after watching him play against Valladolid.
“You were too timid, loosen up, be yourself… you need to believe in yourself, you have more than enough quality, brother,” Kroos reportedly told Güler. These words from the German veteran were well-received by Güler, who understands the need to build his confidence and is eager to secure another start in the upcoming match against Las Palmas.
However, it remains to be seen whether Carlo Ancelotti will start Güler again or opt for Brahim Díaz, who could be a fresh addition to the lineup for the game on Thursday.
