Florentino Is Considering Only Four Names to Replace Vinicius — All Cost Over €100 Million

Vinícius Júnior ju

Real Madrid is fully aware that if Vinícius Júnior decides not to renew his contract, the club will need to replace him with a global superstar — even if the new signing doesn’t match his exact profile. Haaland is the top target, as his arrival would help balance the team. Wirtz is also highly appreciated, even though he is more of a midfielder than an attacking winger; the club still views him as capable of taking over Vinicius’ role. And then there are two right-wingers: Olise and Saka.

The issue? None of them would cost less than €100 million… and they all play for clubs with no need to sell, which would make any deal even more complicated.

This information has circulated across various digital outlets covering football news. According to what Defensa Central can confirm, Real Madrid is still working on renewing Vinícius Júnior. His contract runs until 2027, and the club does not want to reach that year with the risk of losing him as a free agent. For that reason, two scenarios are currently being considered: renew him, or attempt to force a transfer in the summer of 2026.

According to Mario Cortegana, journalist for The Athletic, Vinicius’ renewal talks are currently at a standstill. He wants to earn €30 million net per year, and Real Madrid is offering €20 million. Additionally, he is not inclined to sign an extension as long as his relationship with Xabi Alonso remains tense. For now, it can be said that a real problem exists.

Keeping an Eye on Everything

As expected, Real Madrid is studying all possible scenarios in the transfer market. The club must always be prepared for the potential departure of one of its stars, and they have been considering this possibility with Vinicius for some time, especially since he continues to make no progress toward a renewal.

The name gaining the most traction inside the club is Erling Haaland, a striker who has always been greatly admired by the hierarchy.

For the Manchester City forward to join Real Madrid at some point, one of the team’s current stars would need to leave to make space — and that could be Vinicius if the situation fails to improve. However, there are still several months ahead for the club and the Brazilian to reach an agreement.
