Fede Valverde Affirms Commitment to Real Madrid Amid Transfer Speculation
Real Madrid star Fede Valverde has confidently stated his belief that he is more than capable of playing for the club and emphasized his commitment to staying at the club.
Despite being linked to clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool in recent summer transfer windows, the Uruguayan midfielder has been a consistent presence under Carlo Ancelotti at the beginning of this season.
Valverde played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s recent match against Real Sociedad, scoring the equalizing goal with a powerful strike that found the back of the net off the post. Speaking to Relevo after the game, Valverde expressed his readiness to consider an exit only if he felt he couldn’t meet the club’s standards.
“I have the ability to be a player for this club. The day I don’t feel that way, or that Madrid doesn’t feel that way, we will look for a solution. Today I feel good.”
Notably, Valverde’s performances have kept club legends Toni Kroos and Luka Modric out of the starting lineup on occasion, although Kroos started in the mentioned Sunday night game.
“I feel a little bad for them. Players of this caliber who have won so many things. I wish we could play with 15 players. But the important thing is that whomever gets to play feels the support from those who aren’t, like I’m feeling now.”
The 25-year-old midfielder has experienced a tumultuous 2023, including concerns about his unborn child’s health after the World Cup and an alleged incident involving Villarreal player Alex Baena, which resulted in dropped charges due to inconsistencies in Baena’s account.
Reflecting on these challenges, Valverde stressed the importance of maturity and maintaining perspective in both personal life and football.
With his versatility and value to the team, Valverde appears set to remain at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future. His deep affection for the club and consistent contributions make it unlikely for him to depart unless his playing time significantly diminishes.
