Farewell to Real Madrid for €40 Million: Chelsea Set to Pay His Release Clause

The future is here, something that Florentino Pérez and Carlo Ancelotti know very well, as they constantly think about the possibilities offered by the transfer market to strengthen the squad.

One area that has always been speculated to enhance is the right-back position, which is currently being covered by the excellent performances of Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez.

However, the club’s sports management has considered at different times improving the right flank to challenge Carvajal since Vázquez is not a typical defender.

One of the names that Juni Calafat has always considered to reinforce the right-back position is Jeremie Frimpong, the current player at Bayer Leverkusen, although he might not be for much longer.

The Dutchman has a release clause in the summer that stands at €40 million, a relatively low figure considering his quality and the economic potential of the Premier League.

This has led Chelsea, who are growing tired of Reece James’ injuries, to seriously consider the possibility of signing the Netherlands international to replace him.

The English club, coached by Mauricio Pochettino, will spare no expense and aims to close the deal as soon as possible, preventing other clubs like Real Madrid, who are also interested in Frimpong, from securing his services in a few months.

This is something that Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez are well aware of, so now it’s their turn to make a move if they don’t want to let this promising right-back slip away.
