Dinamo Zagreb’s Dream: Bringing Luka Modric Back to Where It All Began
During the early summer, amidst interest from Saudi Arabia, Luka Modric committed to Real Madrid by signing a new contract, extending his remarkable tenure at the club into a 12th season. The Croatian maestro inked a one-year deal, ensuring his presence at Real Madrid until the culmination of the current campaign.
While Modric’s immediate focus remains on his contributions to Real Madrid, others are contemplating the future, particularly his former club, Dinamo Zagreb. Dinamo President Vlatka Peras expressed a fervent desire to bring Modric back to the club where his illustrious journey commenced.
In an interview with Index (via MD), Peras revealed his intentions: “He is in the last year of his contract; I will call him in the winter. I can’t say I’m in constant contact with him, but I know members of his family. For him, it would make sense to return to Dinamo at the end of his career. Without a doubt, Dinamo will do everything in its power to make this happen. Now we’ll see if that will be enough.”
A potential return to Dinamo Zagreb for Modric would indeed offer a fairytale ending to his extraordinary career, although such considerations are likely distant for the Croatian star. At this stage, his unwavering focus remains firmly on delivering for Real Madrid.
