Carlo Ancelotti’s Uncertain Future at Real Madrid Sparks Managerial Speculation
Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure at Real Madrid has been fruitful, but questions about his future at the club have been looming for a while. While Ancelotti has undeniably brought success to the team, he, like many before him, faces the reality of managing a club known for its swift changes in leadership.
In the current era, the concept of a long-term manager at Real Madrid seems elusive. The last manager to hold the position for at least three seasons was Jose Mourinho, followed by Vicente del Bosque before him.
Ancelotti is on track to complete three consecutive seasons as Real Madrid’s head coach this time, with no imminent plans to replace him mid-season. However, there is widespread speculation that he could depart next summer to take on the role of the Brazil national team manager.
Raul, the current manager of Real Madrid Castilla and a club legend, is one of the names mentioned as a potential successor to Ancelotti. When asked about the possibility of coaching Real Madrid’s first team, Raul did not rule it out, as reported by Cadena SER. He stated, “I am a club person. I am delighted with what I do, the important thing is to help on a day-to-day basis. Next year, next season, we will already know.”
Raul’s coaching efforts with Castilla earned him recognition, nearly guiding them to promotion last season. However, the team is facing a less successful campaign this time, currently positioned in mid-table. As a result, discussions surrounding Raul as the next Real Madrid manager have diminished in recent months. Instead, another club legend, Xabi Alonso, has emerged as a potential favorite for the job should Ancelotti decide to leave.
