Barcelona Upset with Lamine Yamal Due to His Father’s Passion for Real Madrid

Lamine Yamal

Barça is worried about Yamal’s entourage and the influence they may have on him

Barcelona has given Lamine Yamal a warning due to his father’s behavior off the pitch, especially when he talks about Real Madrid. His father has even publicly admitted that he has always been a Madridista but only supports Barcelona now because it “puts food on their table.” Barça executives hope that one day Yamal’s father will stop talking about Madrid and his passion for the Whites, as they were not at all pleased to hear him say that he supports Barcelona only because they pay his son.

There is very little chance of Lamine ending up at Real Madrid someday, but that wouldn’t bother Florentino Pérez, who once signed Figo and also tried to do the same with Messi. However, with Jorge Mendes as his agent, this scenario seems highly unlikely. Moreover, Madrid’s attacking lineup is already full of stars.

Within Real Madrid, there is no doubt that Yamal will eventually renew with Barcelona, but they don’t rule out the possibility that he could leave sooner than expected for a club offering a much higher salary. The youngster’s father seems to have no qualms about leaving Barça for a better-paying team.

The Greatness of Real Madrid

Many Barça fans are upset with Yamal’s father, but it’s understandable. There is no club bigger than Real Madrid. It’s only natural that he was a Madrid fan before his son started rising through Barça’s youth academy. In fact, a few years ago, Yamal was close to leaving the Catalan side to join Madrid.

Eventually, he reached a renewal agreement with Barça, and now they are building a very promising story together. Yamal currently has a market value of €180 million and is under contract until June 30, 2026, although talks are already underway to extend his deal. The club wants to make him a cornerstone of their project for the next decade.

Confidence in the Project

Despite Barcelona making solid signings, Real Madrid has no worries or envy. On the contrary, they believe they have the best players in the world and that it’s only a matter of time before the team starts performing at its peak. With a new coach and some key signings, things are expected to change.

There are still five games left in La Liga, and although it’s a huge challenge, Real Madrid still has a chance to win the title.
