Alphonso Davies’ Future in Doubt: Bayern Munich Reportedly Advances a Mega Offer to Retain Him
Real Madrid faces concerns over the potential retention of Alphonso Davies by Bayern Munich, as the German club reportedly presents a mega contract offer to secure the Canadian’s stay.
As the summer transfer window approaches, it is widely known that Alphonso Davies is a key target for Florentino Pérez and Juni Calafat at Real Madrid. The Canadian left-back, currently with Bayern Munich, is considered a prime candidate to address Real Madrid’s recent challenges in the left-back position.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team has encountered issues at left-back in recent times, and many believe that Alphonso Davies, often regarded as one of the best left-backs globally, could be the definitive solution to this problem for many years to come.
Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2025. Real Madrid aims to sign him in the upcoming summer of 2024, with only one season left on his contract, effectively putting pressure on the German club to sell.
Until now, Davies had reportedly rejected all contract renewal offers from Bayern Munich. However, recent reports suggest that the German club has made a mega offer that may sway the left-back’s decision.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, “Real Madrid’s interest is well-documented, but the latest I heard is that Bayern Munich’s new contract proposal was superior. So unless that has changed or does so subsequently, the expectation is that Alphonso Davies will renew.”
If Davies accepts this new, reportedly lucrative offer from Bayern Munich, it would pose a significant challenge for Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez might need to reassess his plans and look for alternatives in the left-back position.
