Agent Andre Cury Reaffirms Vinicius Junior’s Barcelona Fandom Before Real Madrid Move
Brazilian agent Andre Cury has reiterated his claims that Vinicius Junior, the talented Real Madrid player, was a Barcelona supporter before joining Los Blancos. Cury’s comments resurfaced in the Catalan media after a tweet about Arda Guler, who recently opted to join Real Madrid over Barcelona.
Speaking to Cadena SER, Cury emphasized that Real Madrid hijacked the Vinicius deal at the last moment. He stated, “Everything was arranged, and Madrid found out that he was in Barcelona, and they invited him to go to Madrid. But in Madrid, they didn’t even know him.”
Cury asserts that if it were up to Vinicius, he would be playing for Barcelona. He claimed, “Vinicius went to Madrid because that’s what his agents chose. We had been working on the transfer for three years, and his agents betrayed us. Vinicius told me that he was a cule. He cried after Barca’s 6-1 victory against PSG. That’s what he told me, I don’t know what he said to others.”
However, it is worth noting that Vinicius is now firmly established at Real Madrid, demonstrating his unwavering love for the club and emerging as a shining star leading their attacking lineup.
This serves as a reminder that loyalties can change over time, as supporting one team doesn’t necessarily prevent a player from changing their mind in the future. In fact, there have been nearly 40 examples of players switching between Barcelona and Real Madrid throughout history.
