Vinícius Júnior’s Favorite Balearic Escape Isn’t Mallorca or Ibiza
The Real Madrid star prefers Formentera, home to a 16,000-hectare natural park and a historic 18th-century church
Whenever Vinícius Júnior gets a few days off from Real Madrid, he often travels back to Brazil. However, the Brazilian winger also enjoys spending time in Spain’s Balearic Islands — and his favorite destination there isn’t the famous Mallorca or Ibiza.
Instead, Vinícius has fallen in love with the quieter island of Formentera, a stunning Mediterranean destination known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere.

A favorite spot by the sea
The Brazilian star has been spotted several times on the island, particularly at the popular beachside restaurant Beso Beach Formentera. During some visits he has even crossed paths with well-known athletes such as Kristaps Porziņģis.
The restaurant sits in a truly spectacular setting within the Ses Salines Natural Park. To reach it, visitors pass through the beautiful Platja de Cavall d’en Borràs, famous for its white sand, crystal-clear waters, and unforgettable sunsets.
Ses Salines Natural Park stretches across 16,000 hectares, making it one of the most impressive protected areas in the Balearic archipelago.
A trendy restaurant with breathtaking views
Part of the appeal for Vinícius is not only the landscape but also the lively atmosphere at Beso Beach. The venue has become one of the trendiest summer spots in Formentera thanks to its Mediterranean cuisine, music, and stunning sea views.
Visitors often combine a meal at the restaurant with a walk through the surrounding park or a refreshing swim in the nearby waters — an experience that explains why the location has become one of the footballer’s favorite holiday escapes.

A historic church on the island
Formentera also offers cultural attractions beyond its beaches. One of the most notable landmarks is the Church of Sant Francesc Xavier, located in the island’s capital.
Built in the 18th century, the church has several unusual architectural features reminiscent of a fortress. Its thick, high walls, reinforced entrance, and protective openings were designed to defend the building from potential pirate attacks.
The structure also includes a barrel-vaulted roof capable of withstanding artillery fire — a striking reminder of the island’s defensive history.
Between pristine beaches, a vibrant summer atmosphere, and historic landmarks, it’s easy to understand why Formentera has become a special getaway for Vinícius whenever he looks for relaxation away from the football pitch. 🌴⚽
