Real Madrid comfortably defeated AS Monaco at the Santiago Bernabéu, taking a giant step toward qualification for the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

But the win brought more than just sporting satisfaction for Madrid fans. Vinícius Júnior delivered an outstanding performance and was named Man of the Match at the final whistle, earning widespread praise.

That display prompted the Brazilian winger to break his recent silence and speak to the media, where he made it clear that his desire is to remain at Real Madrid for many more years, despite the criticism and whistles he has faced in recent days.

Vinícius Speaks from the Heart

“The press says whatever it wants, and the fans think and understand that they have the right to criticise me,” Vinícius said.
“But I believe the best way to improve is to come back home and be welcomed at the Bernabéu by the best fans in the world. I’ve always said it—they demand a lot, and I have to be at my best at all times.

“The last year has been difficult for me because I haven’t been able to play the way I want to, but it’s always important to keep moving forward. I want to stay here for a long time,” the Brazilian added.

The Renewal Situation

Vinícius also addressed speculation surrounding his contract renewal, insisting that he is not worried and that everything will be resolved in due course with club president Florentino Pérez.

“There’s a lot of talk about the renewal, yes, but I still have another year left on my contract. We’re very calm,” he explained.
“I trust the president, and he trusts me. We have a very good relationship, and when the time comes, we’ll sort things out. There’s no rush.”

With his words and performances aligning, Vinícius has once again reaffirmed both his importance on the pitch and his long-term commitment to Real Madrid.
