Liverpool Identify Rodrygo as Salah’s Successor for €70 Million

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Rodrygo Goes as the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah, who appears to be edging closer to an exit. The Brazilian’s impressive performance against Manchester City has reignited Liverpool’s interest—an interest that had cooled in recent months. According to several English outlets, the Premier League club would be willing to offer €70 million for the Real Madrid winger.

Rodrygo remains one of Florentino Pérez’s favourite players, but his status is no longer as prominent as it was under Carlo Ancelotti. This situation has led the 24-year-old to reflect on his future, especially at an age where he still has significant potential—provided he is backed as a key star.

Everything Is Possible

Rodrygo is under contract until June 30, 2028, and he is happy at Real Madrid. He is fully settled in Spain, comfortable at the club, and surrounded by close family. The only factor making him consider a possible departure is his limited playing time and the feeling that he is no longer viewed as one of the team’s key figures.

He’s aware that his performances have dipped in recent seasons, but his confidence remains intact. And if he maintains the level he showed against Manchester City, Xabi Alonso—or any manager—will surely grant him more minutes. His talent has never been in question, but he needs to improve physically and become more consistent with goals and assists. Long goal droughts simply can’t continue.

He Doesn’t Want to Leave

For now, Rodrygo has no intention of leaving Real Madrid. His inner circle insists that the No. 11 still dreams of making history with Los Blancos—the club he always wanted to play for since childhood. While he’s frustrated by his reduced role, he remains patient, confident that he can regain his best form and become an essential figure again.

Xabi Alonso values him highly, but does not currently view him as an undisputed starter, mainly because his performances over the last several months have been below his usual standards.
