Sergio Ramos Predicts What Will Happen in El Clásico — and Sends a Message to a Real Madrid Star

The former captain shows his Madridismo and motivates a key player ahead of Real Madrid vs. Barcelona.

To this day, Sergio Ramos remains one of the most beloved figures among Real Madrid fans. Supporters still remember everything he gave to the club over so many years — and many still regret how his departure unfolded. Ramos could have retired at Madrid, just like Toni Kroos is expected to, but disagreements with Florentino Pérez led to his exit.

Over time, however, the relationship has improved, and the legendary defender continues to show public support for his former team from afar.

“You know I’m Madridista to the core”

Speaking to El Chiringuito, Ramos didn’t hesitate when asked about the upcoming El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona:

“El Clásico? You already know I’m Madridista to the core, and I hope Madrid win — and that Kiki [Mbappé] puts in a great performance. I’ll motivate him in the coming days,” he said with a smile.
“Will I send him a message? Well, I talk to him a lot, and he’s performing at a top level. I hope he has a great match in the Clásico and that the three points stay at home.”

Ramos also shared some insight into his current life in Mexico:

“I’m doing really well here in Mexico, honestly I can’t complain. I’m very happy — it’s a country that treats me wonderfully. The club has a very interesting project, and hopefully this year things go well. My contract ends in December, but hopefully we’ll stay because we’re really comfortable and happy here.”

A Legend Enjoying Life After Madrid

The former Madrid captain is satisfied with everything he’s achieved in his career and now enjoys supporting the team like any other fan — along with his family. His bond with Sevilla, the club where he began, remains strong, but Real Madrid holds a unique place in his heart — it’s where he became a football legend.

The upcoming Clásico will be another emotional one for him to watch from afar. Real Madrid badly need a victory to recover momentum and lift the mood around the squad. The last four meetings with Barcelona ended in defeat for Los Blancos — a streak they are desperate to break.
