Endrick Faces Xabi Alonso Head-On: “I Don’t Want to …”

The Brazilian striker meets with the coach to clear the air after reports of tension at Real Madrid.
Real Madrid’s narrow 1–0 victory over Getafe on Sunday once again left Endrick Felipe without a single minute on the pitch — continuing his run of frustration this season. The noise surrounding the young Brazilian has only grown since the match at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, prompting Endrick himself to take the initiative and put an end to any hint of controversy.
The 19-year-old met privately with Xabi Alonso in the coach’s office to make his position clear:
“I don’t want to be a problem, or for my name to be used to create a bad atmosphere, attack the club, or cause conflict with you,”
Endrick reportedly told Alonso.
According to sources close to the squad, Xabi appreciated the gesture and responded by assuring the striker that he understood his hunger to play and his desire to feel important. The coach also made it clear that some of the recent rumors in the media were attempts to stir tension inside the club — and that he doesn’t believe they came from the player himself.

The Controversy That Sparked It All
The tension reached its peak after Cadena SER reported that Endrick reacted poorly to being left on the bench again at Getafe. In the 86th minute, when Alonso decided to replace Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo Goes with Gonzalo García and Brahim Díaz, cameras caught Endrick kicking a water bottle in frustration.
Journalist Antón Meana suggested that the outburst influenced Alonso’s decision to keep him sidelined. For now, Endrick remains, alongside Ferland Mendy and Andriy Lunin, one of the few Real Madrid players yet to make an appearance this season.
The striker had chosen to stay in Madrid over the summer, despite being advised to go out on loan. He had worked tirelessly through preseason to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered last May against Sevilla — but so far, he has found himself behind Gonzalo García in Alonso’s plans, something that has clearly affected his morale.
Loan Move in January Now Likely
According to Defensa Central, Endrick has now reconsidered his stance and is open to leaving on loan during the January transfer window. The idea is for him to gain regular minutes elsewhere in the second half of the season, continue his development, and return to the Bernabéu stronger and more experienced.
His long-term dream remains clear: to secure a place with Brazil’s national team for the 2026 World Cup.
Real Madrid, for their part, still see Endrick as a key part of the club’s future. They have no intention of selling him — only helping him grow through game time and maturity. As club sources put it, “This is part of the process. Arda Güler went through the same thing.”
For now, Endrick has calmed the situation with Xabi Alonso and refocused on working hard in training. The next few months will determine whether his growth continues in Madrid — or begins elsewhere.
