Raúl González has officially ended his chapter as coach of Real Madrid Castilla, marking the close of a significant era at the club. What had long been an open secret has now been formally confirmed by Real Madrid through an official statement — news that brings a wave of sadness to many Madridistas.

Raúl, who has consistently shown his ambition to become the first-team manager one day, is now ready to seek new challenges in his coaching career, while keeping his dream of returning to Real Madrid firmly alive.

“It’s been a great year in every sense. We were bottom of the table after 10 games, still near the bottom by matchday 20, and we ended just short of the promotion playoffs. Personally, I feel more and more confident and prepared for any challenge. And by ‘any challenge,’ I mean just that — whatever comes next,” the Real Madrid legend stated recently.

📝 Official Club Statement

“Real Madrid C. F. announces that Raúl has informed the club of his decision to conclude his time as a coach within our academy system.

It has been an honor for Real Madrid to have one of the greatest legends in our history — and in world football — serving as a coach and mentor in our youth system.

Raúl has always exemplified the values of Real Madrid, and as a coach, he has passed those values on: starting with Cadete B and Juvenil B in the 2018-2019 season, then managing Castilla up to the present day. He also led our Juvenil A team to the Youth League title in August 2020.

Raúl will always remain in the hearts of all Madridistas, and Real Madrid will always be his home.”

🤝 A New Chapter Ahead

While the club has not yet announced Raúl’s successor at Castilla, Álvaro Arbeloa is widely expected to take over the role.

Raúl leaves behind a legacy not only as a club icon but as a mentor and developer of future stars, preparing many young talents for top-level football. His next destination remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: wherever he goes, the football world will be watching closely.
