Ancelotti’s Parting Warning: Real Madrid Will Be Different Next Season, In his final press conference as Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti sends a clear message to Barcelona about what’s coming.

Carlo Ancelotti delivered a pointed message to FC Barcelona during his second-to-last press conference as head coach of Real Madrid, ahead of their match against Sevilla.

Beyond the usual pre-match questions, Ancelotti used the moment to speak directly to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, setting the stage for a competitive season to come — one in which Ancelotti himself will no longer be on the Real Madrid bench.

Ancelotti’s Warning to Barcelona

“Barcelona did very well this season. They played good football and deserved to win La Liga. But next season will be different,” said Ancelotti, clearly implying that Real Madrid will come back stronger.

Let’s hope Carlo is right, and that next season will be a more successful one for Real Madrid, potentially under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

More from Ancelotti’s Press Conference

The Italian manager also reflected on the upcoming match:
“It’s always been tough for us at the Sánchez-Pizjuán. The goal is to finish the season well. Two games remain. We did well against Mallorca, and we have to keep that up now.”

On La Liga as a whole, Ancelotti commented:
“That’s football. Sometimes you’re not able to get the best out of every player. Barcelona must be congratulated; they played beautiful football. They deserved the league title. But next year, it will be a different story with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atlético all fighting for the title.”

On Huijsen’s Signing

Ancelotti was also asked about the recent signing of Huijsen:
“He’s a great player with a lot of potential. A very good signing. All Real Madrid signings bring excitement because this team always aims for the top. Last year, we didn’t plan to reinforce that position, but injuries forced our hand.”

On His Son Davide

He also spoke about his son and assistant, Davide Ancelotti:
“He’s an important part of my coaching staff, not just because of our father-son relationship. I trust him a lot — he tells me things that others might not be able to. Our staff is young and enthusiastic, which makes me reflect more. They’re young but experienced. The club’s analyst group is excellent, led by Simone. Real Madrid will benefit from this work in the future. We’re a family, and working in a family-like environment helps us bring out the best in each other.”
