Real Madrid Knows Its Five Possible Opponents in the Champions League Quarterfinals
The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 is nearing its conclusion, with five teams already joining Real Madrid in the next round.
Under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid overcame RB Leipzig in a more evenly contested tie than initially expected, but now the focus shifts to the quarterfinals.
“The psychological aspect has had a big influence. We played against a quality opponent with nothing to lose. And we played cautiously from the start. We suffered, but the important thing was to reach the quarterfinals,” expressed the Italian coach after eliminating the Germans.
With their sights set on the quarterfinals, Real Madrid could potentially face any of the other seven qualified clubs, although, for now, five names are known.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Barcelona, and Arsenal are the teams accompanying the Merengue outfit into the draw for the next round of the UEFA’s premier club competition, awaiting the outcomes involving Borussia Dortmund, PSV, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan.
Carlo Ancelotti and his players will discover their opponent this Friday, when luck will determine Real Madrid’s path towards the fifteenth.
This will be an open draw, so there will be no restrictions, although all eyes will be on a potential clash between Real Madrid and PSG or Barcelona.
In this regard, the Real Madrid squad has no preferences, as they are aware that to win the UEFA Champions League, they must defeat the best, although they would prefer to play the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
