Arsenal Open to the Possibility of Kai Havertz’s Departure Amid Real Madrid Interest
Arsenal’s promising start to the season has demonstrated their potential to challenge for silverware, dispelling any notions that their previous campaign was merely a fluke. However, not all their recent decisions have yielded positive results. It appears that they may be contemplating the departure of a long-time Real Madrid target.
One such decision was the signing of Kai Havertz in the summer, a move met with skepticism by some. The German international arrived from Chelsea for a reported transfer fee of approximately €65 million, a figure that drew attention.
Real Madrid had also been linked with Havertz, albeit not at the same transfer fee. Havertz has seen consistent playing time in Arsenal’s lineup this season, participating in every game thus far. Yet, his performance statistics do not align with the expectations set for a player acquired for €65 million, as he has contributed just one goal and one assist, even as November unfolds.
Recent reports suggest that Arsenal is open to the possibility of parting ways with Havertz for a €40 million transfer fee. While Real Madrid and Bayern Munich had previously shown interest in the player, the prospects of a January deal remain uncertain.
Havertz’s time in the Premier League, first with Chelsea and now with Arsenal, has raised doubts about his fit in the English top flight. Real Madrid may be an intriguing destination for him, given his prior success at Bayern Munich. However, the question lingers whether the Spanish club would be receptive to signing a player whose Chelsea tenure did not live up to expectations, and whose initial performance at Arsenal has been less than stellar.
