Manchester United Pursues Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, but the Star Winger Appears Unlikely to Make the Move
Manchester United’s ongoing struggle to regain their glory days since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 has been a frustrating journey, marked by a series of managers and high-profile signings, often resulting in limited success at Old Trafford. Notably, the club has acquired several players from Real Madrid, hoping to capture the magic of their Real Madrid days on English soil.
Among these acquisitions, Angel Di Maria arrived in 2014, followed by Raphael Varane in the summer of 2021, and Casemiro last year, all of whom came with proven winning credentials from their time at the Bernabeu. However, none have managed to replicate their Real Madrid form in Manchester.
Now, Manchester United has set its sights on yet another Real Madrid player: Vinicius Junior.
As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Manchester United is eager to bring Vinicius to their ranks, prepared to offer him an annual salary exceeding €20 million. Vinicius is undoubtedly among the world’s top talents, despite a somewhat challenging start to the 2023/24 season, partly attributed to his central role in Carlo Ancelotti’s new 4-4-2 system at Real Madrid.
Vinicius Junior’s quality is undeniable, and it’s safe to say that nearly every European club would be interested in acquiring his services if the opportunity arose. It’s no surprise that Manchester United is among those eager suitors.
However, despite the allure of Manchester United, it appears unlikely that Vinicius will depart from Real Madrid anytime soon. He recently signed a long-term contract extension with the Spanish giants, suggesting a commitment to his current club. Given the lack of recent success for the Premier League giants, it remains doubtful that the Brazilian sensation would choose to make the move to Old Trafford at this stage of his career.
