Real Madrid’s Strong Start Overshadowed by Rodrygo’s Goal Drought
Real Madrid has enjoyed a remarkable start to the season under Carlo Ancelotti, winning nine out of their ten matches. Their only hiccup came against arch-rivals Atletico Madrid on September 24th.
Despite the team’s excellent run, much of the spotlight has been on Jude Bellingham due to his outstanding form, diverting attention from the struggles of some of his teammates, notably Rodrygo.
The Brazilian international has failed to find the net for Real Madrid since their opening day victory against Athletic Club, despite featuring in every match this season. According to reports from Diario AS, Rodrygo is under increasing pressure to deliver, particularly in light of the impressive performances of Joselu Mato, his direct competition in the attack.
Joselu has notched three goals in his last four starts, accumulating a total of four goals and two assists. He is pushing for a partnership alongside Vinicius Junior in the attack, which places added responsibility on Rodrygo to elevate his game for Real Madrid, beginning with the upcoming match against Osasuna this weekend.
