Xavi Hernandez Reacts to Carlo Ancelotti’s Statements About Barcelona Star – ‘Are You Kidding?’
Barcelona Manager Dismisses Notion of Young Forward’s Move to Rival Club
Barcelona’s Manager, Xavi Hernandez, has responded with amusement to suggestions that their young forward Ansu Fati could potentially join rival club Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old Fati had been associated with a potential exit throughout the summer, amid reports indicating that his manager might not have complete confidence in his abilities.
Antonio Romero, in a late-night radio segment, hinted that if he were in charge of Real Madrid, he would consider pursuing Fati in the ongoing transfer window. This speculation naturally drew considerable attention and raised eyebrows.
In the lead-up to Real Madrid’s match against Almeria, Carlo Ancelotti was asked about Fati. His response was measured, stating, “Well, what can I say. Ansu Fati is a youngster, who will have a great future. I’ll leave it there.”
Soon after, during Xavi Hernandez’s press conference as Barcelona prepared to face Cadiz, he was questioned about the possibility of Fati joining Real Madrid in the future, following Ancelotti’s comments.
Xavi dismissed the notion humorously, remarking, “That’s a joke, isn’t it? It’s already quite strong. I find these debates nonsensical. Ansu Fati is immensely valuable to us and will continue to be. He’s an integral part of the club’s assets, and I believe I’ve been quite clear about this.”
While it’s true that Real Madrid historically acquired Luis Figo from Barcelona, under the helm of Florentino Perez, the current situation presents a stark contrast. With no substantial reports indicating the possibility aside from a personal preference mentioned by one pundit, such a move remains unlikely.
Fati’s potential move to Real Madrid would likely raise similar concerns about playing time as he faces in Barcelona, aside from other pertinent factors that should be considered.
